So here is the story:
Yesterday I let all of the girl sheep out of their pen for a stroll around the property - good exercise for them and good weedeating for my yard. Everyone was having a great time...even the lambs, who enjoyed bouncing around and tasting the grass/weeds too. When it was time to go back to the pen I called "Come sheep, sheep" and they all followed me back to the pen. As I watched them enter the pen I realized "hey, I'm missing two black lambs!" I turned around and saw Ranger about 10 feet up the path from me. When he heard me say "I'm missing two lambs," he turned and ran around the house - returning quickly with the two lambs in front of him! He herded them all of the way back and into the pen. I was absolutely flabbergasted...he knew what I needed and went into action. What a dog!!

I TOLD you he was under-appreciated!!! He was just waiting for YOU guys to recognize his special talents! :D
P.S. Reminds me of the time I said, "Where's my plastic measuring cup?" to Jeff, and Emma ran out of the room, and returned from the living room carrying it. (!)
Apparently Molly had taken it off the counter earlier.
Sometimes I think it's we who just don't understand *their* forms of communication!
I think that animals are amazing!
I can see the sheep quaking in their fleeces with such a sheepdog.
Thanks for visting my blog and not taking offense to my comment :-)
