There is a balcony off the master bedroom in our house, which is wonderful because it gives me a great view of both sheep pens and part of the horse/donkey pen. Being able to walk out and talk to my critters is quite fun...although I must admit that it makes me feel a bit like a princess in a Disney movie when I do so. Being so close to the animals also means that if we sleep with the window and/or screen door open, then I have absolutely no need for an alarm clock in the morning. Most days they start braying, whinnying, and baaing around 7:30 a.m. Can't complain, really. Beats being a dairy farmer and having to get up at 4:00 a.m. (or earlier)!
