Everything here at Kellane Farm is nice and peaceful this chilly evening after Thanksgiving. Well...almost peaceful. The outdoor animals have their bellies full of hay and seem to be content in their woolie coats. Here inside, the dogs have their bellies full and are snuggled up trying to stay warm. Kirk and Evan are playing a board game. I've been snuggled up on the couch by the fireplace knitting Christmas presents (to which I will return when I'm finished with this blog). So why is there lack of total peace here on Kellane Farm? Well, that would be because my daughter, Hayley, has a group of girls from her Color Guard over tonight for a sleepover. They are currently in the dining room decorating cookies with mounds of frosting and decorating sprinkles...and the house is ringing with the giggles of teenage girls. Not that I'm complaining...it really is a lovely sound! I was teasing Hayley earlier today saying that I'd need to load up on headache medicine for this evening - but, truly it was all in jest. I'm very thankful to have such a sweet teenage daughter - and I'm going to miss her when she is gone to college in a year and a half.
Here is my 2008 Thanksgiving list of things for which I am grateful:
1. God - and the fact that I live in a country where I am free to worship Him.
2. Family
3. Friends - old and new
4. Sheep - because without them I wouldn't have such wonderful yarn to knit with and because they are such wonderful creatures!
5. All of my animals...but especially my sweet little Rat Terriers - my little shadows!
I could keep going, as I've been blessed with many wonderful things and because life is a blessing...but I want to keep this short and sweet!! :-)

Sounds like your farm life is wonderful. You sure seem to have lots to be thankful for...I never thought of saying thanks for sheep! Thanks for the reminder of gratitude :)
