Bittersweet

This past Sunday was a very bittersweet day for me. Bitter because I had to say goodbye to five of my sheepie girls: Cupcake, Dove, Belle, Polly and Laila. Sweet because I sold some sheep! Kellane Farm LLC is a sheep breeding business - and as such I need to become accustomed to selling sheep. However, this particular sale will probably be the hardest because three of the girls were my "foundation" ewes and two were lambs from the first group bred and born here at Kellane Farm.

I am pleased to report that I did find the girls a great new home with Sarah Armstrong of LeSeuer, Minnesota. This is Sarah's very first flock of Babydoll sheep and she is very excited to have them! Congratulations and Thank You, Sarah!!

Here are some final shots of the girls in their little pen as they are waiting to be picked up:

Did she just go in the hay shed?!?
She did! Yay...some hay to eat!!

Nom...Nom...Nom....
